Here at The List Project, we have a number of law firms and volunteers who help to make our organization what it is. Without these fine individuals, TLP could not do what it needs to do in order to help our Iraqi Allies. In this new series of posts entitled The List Project at Work, we will highlight groups and individuals who have made a great difference in our organization.
Our first profile will deal with The List Project’s Boston Chapter, which continues to do outstanding work serving our Iraqi friends in the Boston Area:
On November 14th, the Boston Chapter of The List Project held a winter clothing drive at Ben Dunay’s laundromat in Malden, MA. Volunteers and friends of TLP Boston donated several bags of clothes, jackets, blankets, scarves, and gloves, and all items were washed and folded and drycleaned courtesy of the laundry.
The clothing drive was an unequivocal success, and some items have already been distributed. The remainder will be given out this weekend at Boston’s next get-together in Chelsea. That event will be held at the Chelsea City Cafe, and attendees are encouraged to bring additional items for distribution then.
TLP Boston will hold another clothing drive in the Spring, and the group is always on the lookout for additional donations of clothes and household items for distribution.
If you are in the Boston area and would like to help this chapter , please log onto TLP Netroots and sign up! From there you can join a local group and interact with Iraqis and the Americans interested in helping them. We hope to see you there!
