Today was a great day. We went to my Aunt’s house, and I spent the day playing outside with my cousins. I love spending time with my cousins, aunts, uncles, parents, and grandparents. At the end of the day, my cousins and I made cards for this month’s care packages that are going out to the List Kids. It made me think about the fact that many of the List families are separated from their extended families. Can you imagine if your parents came home and told you that your family was in danger and you were moving to a foreign country? I can’t imagine how hard it was to say goodbye to their friends and family, not knowing if or when they would ever see them again. Thinking about this makes me even more determined to find a way to reach out to them as they build new lives here in the U.S. As you can see from the List Kids’ website, we are collecting cards, letters and gift cards to send with our care packages. Can you spare a few minutes this week to send a card or letter that can be included in this month’s care package? Why not sit down with some friends and have a card-making or letter-writing party? Send me a picture of your party, and I will post it here. Here is a photo of me and my cousins making cards today. If my 4 year old cousin can do it, so can you!
