TLP staff comes together a few times a week to discuss the latest news, activities, and trends relating to our Iraqi allies. This week, we wanted to share with you one of the dozens of emails we receive monthly from Iraqis who are not on our List, but who are desperate to resettle to the U.S.. Below you will read about a situation that is all to common for many Iraqis going through the resettlement process–endless waiting periods before families reach their final destination.

Subject: help me
I am an Iraqi refugee in Syria (File No.: xxxxxxxxxxx). I am a handicapped and live with my x member family in a miserable situation without a job (as you know that we are not permitted to work here in Syria).
My application to immigrate to the USA was approved two years three months ago (interviewed on June x, xxxx) and my family and I still desperately waiting for an action.
I am asking you please to take an action to relief our suffering. Our lives are totally in your kind hands and the decision of approval or denial would put an end to our agony, as we cannot help it any more.
Please find below dates of interviews, medical examinations and fingerprinting.
Thank you very much for your understanding and help. We look forward for your kind solution.
Sincerely
KA
