About Us
The List Project is a U.S. non-profit, founded in 2007 with the belief that the United States Government has a clear and urgent moral obligation to resettle to safety Iraqis who are imperiled due to their affiliation with the United States of America. We are the first comprehensive organizational effort to honor the sacrifice of these Iraqis.
We've launched this site for Americans who want to help and the Iraqis who need it.

About the Crisis
The
Iraq refugee crisis is now among the fastest-growing refugee crises in
the world. 
15% of Iraq's population is in flight, either displaced
internally or forced to flee across international borders to
neighboring countries. This is the statistical equivalent of nearly 50
million Americans.
Hiding amongst these millions is a group of Iraqis who have been forced from their homes because they helped the United States. They rejoiced at the toppling of Saddam and signed up to serve as interpreters for our armed forces, and as engineers and experts with the U.S. Government, NGOs, and American companies working toward a better Iraq.
Now they are the most hunted class in Iraq. The lethal stigma they bear as 'collaborators' transcends sect or tribe, and they are being systematically targeted for assassination.
As of yet, their cries for help have been heard but not answered by the US Government.
President-Elect Barack Obama on America's obligation to our Iraqi allies:
We must also keep faith with Iraqis who kept faith with us. One tragic outcome of this war is that the Iraqis who stood with America - the interpreters, embassy workers, and subcontractors - are being targeted for assassination.
Keeping this moral obligation is a key part of how we turn the page in Iraq. Because what's at stake is bigger than this war - it's our global leadership. Now is a time to be bold. We must not stay the course or take the conventional path because the other course is unknown. To quote Dr. Brzezinski - we must not allow ourselves to become "prisoners of uncertainty.'

one nearby, and take ownership on this important issue.
